Welcome to the realm of Bionanotechnology

In our Bionanotechnology lab, we perform fundamental as well as applied research at the interface of biology, nanotechnology, and material chemistry. Research themes are mainly classified into these three interconnected fields. In supramolecular chemistry, we investigate properties of individual molecule and its interaction with other molecules in terms of weak non-covalent interactions. We synthesize fluorescent nanoparticles and functionalize its surface with biomolecules (e.g. protein, DNA, drugs etc.) inorder to decipher biological events associated with cancer, using diverse spectroscopic techniques. We are also involved in synthesizing fluorescent or fluorogenic probes for fundamental photophysical study, bioconjugation, and small molecular sensing.
